The NOT so lucrative job offer scam
I have always loved to offer my selling expertise to the various organizations I had worked with earlier. I met with an accident, so was kind of laid off from work and my treatment went for a good 6 months or so. I was looking for a decent job offer, until I happened to come across this email in my mail box. This was from ASL Marketing and they were hiring for sales specialist on the mid management level. The opportunity was exciting enough with a lot of stimulating incentives and earning options listed out there. The job was based out in West Chester; very close to where I lived, so I immediately decided to pool in for the offer. This indeed was a marketing firm as per my knowledge and it dealt with stuff related to Home Improvement. As soon as I replied to their offer over email, I got a drafted reply from their end. As per them I had been selected after a rigorous round of research, which in a way amazed me as I never really had been doing any hard work so far. Anyways, they organized my round of interview over the phone, I spoke to a guy called Patrick, who asked me a few buzz about the sales world, some latest fractions in the market n all that jazz, pretty simple one surely. They started selling me a sales program and if I bought all of that, they will offer me a Senior sales agent position in their esteemed organization. The moment I heard of that, I went like what…..r u kiddin me? I mean I have been working since the last 7 years and never came across a comp that made you buy their products, to test you and then offer you a position in their comp. These guys managed to charge my card for $299, without my consent. It’s a complete scam, they are nothing less than a big bunch of glorious cons. I have anyways mentioned this to the attorney general’s office. To my surprise there isn’t a guy called Patrick working with ASL Marketing. These assholes never sell anything at all and they hardly have any contacts or hold any clients. All they do is con and mug people in the need of a living, just like they did with me. It’s actually very simple for them, as anybody applying for a job would anyways provide all the details and account details are just one of them. Guys’just be aware of this scam. Don’t let the need of a job make people like them loot you for your money and rip your peace of mind. More than the money they snatched from me, it’s the dishonest practice that hurts me, their con that bugs me and their unreliable business that has been doing this to some many of the innocent peeps out there. The company claims to be unaware of any of the stuff like this going on at their end. But trust me is it that simple, can they really not know about that?
