Too good to be true
Was researching cost of implants. ( I have a dentist and regular appointments with really good insurance) I have an appointment with My dentist this coming week to talk about implants ( had to wait several months to heal from dental work done. Anyways, I came across this ” Grant” and thought any help with cost couldn’t hurt, so I filled out the application. Red flag #1 not a very through application. I go back to work and almost immediately I have several texts and an email saying I was approved. Red flag #2 that was really fast response. I think what the heck I’ll call and see what they say. Immediately reg flags. I’m ringed through to ” Tiffany”. Here Red flags 3, 4, 5..
She says the grant does not cover the full amount, that the amount covered will not be known till I have an exam (#3). That I need to pay $50 deposit to even schedule an appointment (#4) I have to have a full exam and xrays( cost unknown till time of appointment) ( Red flag #5) then my application and exam will be submitted to this ” Grant”. ( #6) I tell her I will have to see if I have the deposit and she plans to call me back on Monday. I tell her I have really good insurance and it covers most of my dental and even 50% of cost of implants. She tells me I will have to pay out of pocket for the expenses.
First off why do I have to pay a $50 deposit? My insurance covers 100% of all exam, x-rays and most treatment. 80% of most dental surgeries and procedures and 50% of implants, dentures, partials, ect. So they want to bill me for stuff my insurance pays for. You can’t tell me how much I have to pay or how much this Grant covers without overcharging me for services that my dentist has already done and I don’t need. I immediately went looking for reviews and found all these. Thank you for stopping me from being scammed.
