Dishonest and Cunning

BEWARE!!! These people are very misleading and dishonest. It’s all about money and not customer satisfaction. I purchased two blue back male Gouldian finches from this company a couple of months ago and it was a very disappointing purchase. I emailed Alan several times prior to purchasing because they mention several times that they do not offer refunds. I had specific color combinations that I wanted to purchase as I am very particular about the colors I add to my flock. I asked Alan what would happen if I purchased and they did not have to colors I wanted. He told me they would contact me prior to shipping to let me know they did not have what I wanted so I could choose another color. He assured me that it would be an issue because they had all color combinations. I even sent him a picture of the combinations I was looking for and he acknowledged what I was looking for. So, I paid approx $500 for two birds but when they arrived, they were not as promised. They sent 3, two of which were colors I specifically asked not to received and the third was ill. He asked me to send him pics of the bird I received to “find out what happened” and the response I got was “those are pretty birds” which was totally irrelevant to my complaint. He didn’t offer any solution and when I asked how he was going to fix it he emailed back “we are sorry you are unhappy with your purchase, we will make it up to you on your next order”. I wasn’t until I submitted a complaint with PayPal that he offered a refunded but wanted me to send them back in the original box (which was already thrown away as this occurred over several days and had bird feces in it) and I had to pay for shipping, for a mistake that they made. I expressed that I purchased from them because I was told they had what I wanted. If he had been honest, I wouldn’t have purchased from them because I could have driven two hours away and picked up the same bird for less. I did not accept their offer as I wanted nothing more to do with such dishonest people. I should have read the complaints against them prior to purchasing. They make you agree to the “no refund” policy prior to purchasing in attempt to relieve themselves from responsibility. They should be better at communicating with customers who are willing to spend 100s of dollars. If a client is purchasing birds based on color then maybe you should send a picture of the birds prior to shipment, that way the customer can agree or choose another color. I would never have picked out the birds that he sent and specifically asked not to receive a certain color, which he sent anyway.
