Possible Puppy Mill & Threatens to Sue
Disclaimer: we absolutely love our puppy but this review is based on the unprofessionalism and poor communication on the breeder’s end. In 2020 we inquired about a litter based on her dog, Stark, who had such a unique look; she said that she will have a litter with Stark and one of her females by Dec 2020. When the time came, the breeder claimed that it was actually a false pregnancy and that there will be no litter from Stark until Jan 2021, which we were fine with and still very excited. When Jan 2021 came, Kelly claimed that the litter we will be seeing is from Stark and Storm. We originally wanted a grey male and amongst the litter there was only one male and he was Sable colored but still beautiful; she said she had another litter from different parents and offered us that as an option as well but we messaged her saying “we will still go with Stark’s litter” and she said “Congratulations”. From here on out we had receipts saying our puppy boy is from Stark and Storm. Which we find out later was a lie and was never conveyed to us that our puppy isn’t from Stark and later we found out that Storm passed away. We didn’t get our AKC papers until 3 weeks later and when we did it stated that our puppy’s parents were Icepick and a female that isn’t even on Kelly’s website or any of her other social media (so we had no idea who she was nor did we know that was the litter we would be getting). Additionally, we picked him up in March, and unfortunately there was blood on his back which was very concerning, but our breeder said it could have been from him rough housing with the other pups or from when him being microchipped. It was already concerning he came to us with blood on him and she didn’t even have a 100% answer as to why that was. A week with our puppy we found he has worms and our vet stated that he has had them since he breastfed from his mother and that the mother had worms, which was very concerning because Kelly stated she was dewormed. We love our puppy but we were very unhappy with the breeder’s dishonesty, and poor communication. Her malamutes are beautiful but their health is questionable and be aware that communication with the breeder is far from trustworthy. I asked for a partial refund for Kelly’s unprofessionalism and dishonesty, but Kelly refused and stated that we are treating our dog “secondhand” because we asked for a partial refund when in reality we were criticizing HER. She doesn’t know us, or how we treat him like our son, and that it is very ignorant to say that to a customer as a business owner. I hope no one ever has to experience this. Please go to another Malamute breeder or adopt.
