A disturbing experience on the whole!

I signed up for DirecTV because I wanted DirecTV. I like DirecTV. Unfortunately AFTER getting into the contract and bundle they told me they were linked in my area to Century Link. I’ve had service 2 weeks.

We have to reset our modem EVERY DAY to get internet service. Additionally, last night – about 12 hours ago – I set up my CenturyLink.com account. I could get into my account. But I couldn’t get to simply setting up auto pay. I called customer service, which transferred me to tech support (everyone knows tech support helps get the service working so that was totally the wrong move) and then tech support transferred me Order Management (which is for setting up an order and not the web signing) and then I was hung up on.

I called back, explained my situation and said specifically “Tech Support doesn’t handle this situation. Please don’t transfer me there.” I was told to hold and then tech support answered. I explained my problem and they, after my request not to, sent me to Order Management. Today I’m still not in the correct portion of my account and their help desk is trying to tell me they have NEVER in the whole time their company has existed, had someone be locked out of their account before.

I work for a competitor, out of every 30 or so calls we get this situation about 5 times and we have it all set up so it takes about 30 seconds to get them to the right department and another 2 minutes to get the account unlocked. Century Link has to set up a support ticket and I may or may not hear from them in 7-10 days. Until then I just have to suck it up and can’t get into my centurylink.com website which THEY tell me is so important.

WARNING: Century Link internet service is a daily or more reset of all equipment. Century Link is more concerned with keeping their average handling time on the phone down so they’ll pass you off before you can barely verify your account. Century Link is not set up to handle even the simplest of requests.

IF POSSIBLE DO NOT CHOOSE CENTURYLINK AND FIND OUT BEFORE YOU AGREE TO ANY SERVICE WHO YOU WILL BE LINKED TO FOR THEIR SERVICE PARTNER."
